Epilogue to Chapter One

Post by Mirza on Thu Aug 14, 2014 9:34 am

It is the next day after the group has met Severa. They have at this point managed, with the help of some of Tuvera's men and various townsfolk, to free the captives and returned them to Farwyn town. What each character does is entirely up to you. Think about how your character will react to what has transpired and how they cope.

The Epilogue should only encompass this day, but it may stretch into the following day. The purpose of the chapter one epilogue is to wrap up some questions left unanswered.

Mirza in particular carried Katie back to Terry's tavern. Terry took over caring for her for that night. After that Mirza alerted Tuvera that they found the captives and Tuvera sent men to pull them out. There were no Casualties and Mirza helped carry many of the captives back to town.

Following that Mirza went to his room at Terry's Tavern.

"Perhaps you are him."

Mirza lay staring at the ceiling. The window was open and the early morning air was starting to creep in. He could not stop thinking of that woman. She knew who he was. Everywhere Mirza went someone identified him. A feeling of uneasiness washed over him. Would he ever be able to escape Al'Rasheed? Would he ever be able to leave his former life behind him? Whats more was now Katie and Clara knew who he was. Could he trust them? The three of them had been through alot in the last twenty four hours. He believed he could trust them. They didn't seem to know anything. He would have to keep his guard up.

He sat up and looked out the tavern window. Mirza had not slept yet, his mind was racing too much and he spent the majority of the night helping get the ownsfoalk back to their respective homes. Most of the families of the captives were overjoyed to have their loved ones back. Mirza was a stranger to these feelings. They were so foreign to him. He wondered if his mother or father would rejoice if Mirza were to return to Al'Rasheed. He doubted it. His father would be happy his hier was back, not his son.

The Sultan of Al'Rasheed cared not for Mirza as his child. He only cared for Mirza as his successor. He was cold and always pushed Mirza to strive for perfection. Mirza was monitered his whole life. Watched over by his father's lackies. His mother was always too caught up in her own affairs to bother paying attention to Mirza. She had been forced into her marraige with the Sultan and dealt with it by burrying her time in wealth and gossip. She frequently held parties and invited the nobility. She held contests and shows, ensuring that she was always entertained. The thought of having a family and a kingdom was too much for her to bear, but events and shopping were something that she could. Because of this Mirza was raised by servants and hand selected teachers. He was taught to be proper and taught to lead armies and wage war. He was taught to fight with not only a blade, but with words and politics. Mirza hated it. He yearned a normal life. One without constant supervision and strict schedules. When the day came that his father's emotional detachment and obsession with a perfect successor finaly was too much for Mirza to tolerate, he ran.

A tear left Mirza's eyes as he thought of that day. When he saw Farah kneeling berfore him in the palace antechamber. His father's words cut deep.

"No prince of Al'Rasheed will marry a common girl." Mirza shook his head before the images flooded his mind. He slammed his hand onto his thigh and tightened a fist around the cloth of his trousers. His hand shook violently as Farah's eyes flashed before him. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

Mirza threw his legs over the side of his cott. He stared at his feet for a while longer; Running over what had happened the night prior. He figured he would have to explain things to Katie, Clara and probably Tuvera. He dreaded it, but these people were the closest he had to friends.

He pulled himself up and grabbed Therafim from its resting location aside the bed table. He did not attach it to his sash. He walked out of the room and down the stairs. The Tavern was empty. Even Terry was absent from the counter. Mirza guessed that he was still tending to Katie and Alex. He helped himself to a tankard of rum and sat down at the bar.

Tuvera had asked Mirza to speak with him at some point throughout the day. The Vedalken (Mirza had learned of the man's race the night before) had not specified a time. He would go shortly. Mirza wondered where Clara had gone.

Re: Epilogue to Chapter One

Her work was done. Sort of. Clara knew that she still had a job to do, but the biggest problem had been solved. The young assassin had never seen so many happy faces, and she'd never been thanked so much in her life. It was odd, and it felt awkward, but it didn't last. A few families offered their help to clean up wounds they might have suffered, and for a long time Clara had to straddle the back of a chair while an older woman scraped out the muck and dirt from the gouge in her back. It had been utterly painful, but it was nothing compared to what Katie had suffered. She wondered how she was fairing, and if she was any closer to healthy now that she was home.

With the wound cleaned and covered, Clara ran her hair under some water, glad to get rid of some of that labyrinth muck off of her. The bandages would have to be changed and she would have to be careful about moving too much. She didn't need stitches, but it still hurt a lot. Her regular clothes were slightly ruined, which of course were being fixed. It was strange to have so many people willing to help with your problems. She was so used to having to fix them herself. With a simple white blouse and black pants, she wandered to the barn with something in her hands. It was wrapped in cloth and it jingled.

Once she was inside the barn, things finally started to sink in. In just a day she had seen things she couldn't really explain. They were immensely strong and terrifying, and Clara would be lying if she hadn't worried constantly. It had been scary to see Katie among those spikes and limp against the wall, but it had been immensely relieving to see Mirza launch a fireball at the golem, allowing Clara to fire the final blow. It had taken Clara a while to stop shaking.

The young assassin liked to pull off a calm and mature demeanor, but she was still young. There were things she hadn't seen or done, and demons she still hasn't dealt with. Like Carter. She hadn't seen him since she had mistakenly run into the trading hub, intermixing with the crowd and discovering Tuvera's need for hero's. Did that mean she was a hero, then? Clara looks at the bundle in her arms, unwrapping it to reveal her shattered crossbow. Some pieces are fixable, but others aren't. She's not going to not try, and begins to fumble with things with small tools she had brought along.

Carter had been her guardian when her father could no longer protect her. He'd been an aspiring soldier, ready to die for whatever the General said he had to die for. Carter was eager to please, but deep down was a good soul. For a while, anyways. As Clara joined the military, she realized her mistake, craving to leave and find another path of life. She'd learned useful things in the short time she was there, and met some decent cadets who would grow into amazing people when they finished. She just couldn't. Clara never knew why, never tried to understand why, so she ran.

It was shortly after her arrival to Thieves' Guild that she realized many things. She'd never see her father again, or Carter. As a guardian, he'd been understanding and protective, willing to listen if Clara wanted to talk. They got along pretty well, until he showed his face in the Thieves Guild, barring a warrant for Clara's arrest. Running from the kings army was bad, and if they knew your name and what you looked like, it was over. Except, Clara wasn't going to let herself go back. She wasn't about to put on heavy paladin armor and allow everyone to boss her around. She loved being free, and not even Carter was going to stop her.

He'd put up quite the fight in attempts to bring her down, but Clara had ran before he'd even gotten the chance. She knew he was good with his weapons, and being confident at a time like this was bad.

So Clara had ran until she landed on dusty cobblestone and grumbling townsfolk.

Part of her wonders if Carter is still searching, or if he went back with out her. She doesn't know what to expect, and if she'll ever see him as Carter, and not the king's errand boy. With a heavy sigh, Clara's emerald eyes scanned her crossbow. She'd managed to fix most of it, but most of the important things were still snapped or bent. Replacement parts would be hard to find, and expensive to pay for, but that wasn't really a problem.

Her mind wandered to her companions. The again, they weren't really just companions anymore, were they? Clara hadn't ever really had friends in the academy, or before that, and it's strange to have them now. The young assassin is thankful for them nonetheless. Ever since they're arrival back, she'd hardly gotten a glimpse of Katie, or Mirza. She had given Terry her bow and half empty quiver of arrows and disappeared. There had been quite the ruckus throughout the night, but it gone by in a blur. Now things were slow and Clara felt exhausted, but she couldn't find sleep. Maybe Mirza and Katie were?

Placing the crossbow on her lap, Clara let out a sigh.

When things were all said and done, where would she go? She couldn't stay here forever, especially with the kings guard searching for her. If they even were still trying to. She still had a month here, and her contact with Tuvera would be over. Could she stay safe until then?

Ranger stood in the stall. He hasnt left the barn since katie had been wounded. the stallion lifted his head and stared at his tack. he wanted someone to ride him anyone! Even Mirza would do.

Everythin was quiet in the tavern. Terry was upstairs checkin on Katie, who was still asleep...a coma... she had a raspy breath each time she inhaled. He looked at Alex.
"watch her as i go get water." he turned and walked out. The room was cleaned besides all the white cloth lyin around the floor. The young elf looked over and sighed.

"i'm sorry katie..." Alex sniffled as he stared at his foster sister. She saved him, well  Her friends and her saved him and a couple others from this evil witch and a monster. His hands touched his foster's sister's. Just then Katie's hand lanched up and grabbed his almost crushin it.
"Don't touch me!" katie jumped up and looked around...her arm was wrapped up since it was badly fractured. she had a concussion and a couple broken ribs. Covers and blankets went flyin. She jumped out of the bed in panic. Where was she?! Bandages wrapped around her midsection, a black half shirt covered her chest, and she wore black shorts.

"DAD!" Alex screamed as he watched katie run out of the room. Katie almost stumbled down the stairs. she looked around then ran..
how did she get here? where is Ranger? Clara? Mirza? the Cave?! katie ran out the door ignorin Tina's and Terry's shouts.

"Ranger!!" katie franticlly looked around . The painted stallion perked his hears and shot out of the stables. he turned sharply around the travern the  stopped to see katie. She had black bruises on her knees and face, some small cute on her and a ugly cut on her left cheek.. Ranger snorted at the paniced girl and walked over. Katie ran over and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Your ok!" she closed her eyes. the only thing she remember is the room spinnin then seein his face. With a soft nicker the stallion lowered his head and tried to hug her. At least she was awake. but she shouldnt be out of bed...
Silence surround the horse and and Katie.
"Are they still at the cave?" she looked at Ranger, before the horse can answer katie tried to climb on his back but gasped as an electric shock shot threw her...she didnt even notice how badly wounded she was.

Ranger quickly knelt down to catch the girl. She shouldnt be out here....

Mirza looked over his shoulder as Katie bolted out the door. She looked in a panic and didn't notice him sitting there at the counter. He got up from his stool and twisted around. He took his time as he started to walk. His tankard in one hand and Therafim in the other, he stepped out the door.

The sun had just come up. Mirza raised a hand to shield his eyes. He squinted hard and slowly opened his eyes as they adjusted to the sudden shift in lighting. The air was calm and the sky was clear. Few townsfolk were walking around and even Tuvera's workers seemed to be getting a late start. The most comforting thing was that no one looked at him as a stranger anymore. The few people that were out that morning smiled at Mirza. One man waved. Mirza believed that the waving man was Ricken. His wife was one of the victims. Mirza waved back and smiled. It was odd to be welcomed.

The night before some of the families had offered him additional reward. Some offered gold and some offered aid. Mirza turned them down. He did not want to owe these people and he felt strange about recieving gifts and favors.

Mirza guessed Katie went for the stables. Her horse was there and it was very likely she was looking for him. Mirza immediately spotted the duo just outside the stables. Mirza had carried Katie out of the cave, but it was Ranger that brought her home.

Mirza walked up to the girl and her horse. He realized in that moment that he had not showered or changed. He was still covered in dirt and his clothes were still torn. His shoulder had scabbed over, but the dry blood was still on his arm. Mirza was certain that he smelled aweful. Even Therafim's sheeth was dirty. Mirza had abandoned his sandals at the cave. He now walked barefoot.

"Morning Katie" he then nodded to Ranger. She was leaning on the horse. Mirza could tell she was in pain. Her wounds were the most grievous of their group and Mirza could only imagine how long it would take for her to fully heal.

"Shouldn't you be resting?" He said raising his brow.

Her thoughts were interrupted when voices from outside her mount's stalls echoed in her ears. Curious as to what the ruckus was about, Clara shifted— head popping over the edge of the stall. Standing in the middle were the others, Katie splayed over Ranger's back and Mirza looking at the two of them with raised eyebrows. Why was Katie out here? Clara could only see a few of her wounds, but she didn't look healthy enough to be wandering around. The young assassin's eyebrows furrowed. Was something the matter?

"Everything okay?"

She asked timidly, looking at the three with bright, observing eyes. She hadn't really stopped to look at her own wounds besides the one on her back which had been too serious to ignore. Besides that, Clara had wandered off to a quiet corner with her thoughts. She probably had to go see Tuvera eventually, but for now it wouldn't hurt if she just dealt with things on her own for the time being.

Ranger snorted as he helped the girl up. He flicked his ears as footsteps grew closer to him an the girl. Instinctively, the stallion gave a warning then turned his head to see who the person was. Mirza! The horses muscles relaxed, he wasn't a threat, he was the one who carried Katie out.

" morning Katie" a familiar voice stretched out towards Katie. That voice?! Katie turned her head over her shoulder to see Mirza standing there, eyebrows raised
" shouldn't you be resting?"  He said. Overwhelmed with joy Katie gathered a bit of strength and stood up and wrapped her arms around him. She closed her eyes and stayed quiet then whispered.
" thank the maker your alright!" She said clinging to him, as more pain shot threw her...

" everything alright?" A soft voice came.
" Clara!" Katie nearly stumbled, but of course Ranger caught her, glaring at her to go back to bed. The girl was too happy to see her partners alive. She pushed the horse away and hugged the girl then Pulled away.

" oh I thought you guys where in the cave still!" She stepped back the. Placed her arms on her ribs. Her body shook from the pain, but she tied to keep herself from looking ill. She has a fever and is defiantly not suppose to bed out here.  Ranger looked at Mirza
~ do something...~ his eyes begged. Katie leaned against the horse.
" so," she started " what happened after I- " she stopped and tried to think.
" after I hit the floor?" She said not quite sure if she was right about the floor part.

Mirza was taken back a bit by Katie's sudden outburst, but after she had her arms around him he quickly realized that was her nature. She was kind and nurturing. Hugs were her thing he thought to himself as her returned her hug, being careful not to squeeze her. She stepped back from his arms and blurted out an equally relieving shout at Clara as the youngest member of their party walked out of the barn.

Mirza smiled. It was good to be among friends in a setting where they were not fighting for their lives. His eyes met with Ranger's and for once the horse didn't have a look of caution towards him. The horse clearly wanted him to get Katie back to resting. It was strange, but the mustang's expressions almost seemed human. He gave the beast a wink.

"Its good to see you Clara. And Katie how about we three have a seat inside and talk about it over some mead and rum?" He smiled and held up his tankard, which had nearly spilled when Katie assaulted him.

He wrapped an arm around Katie to help her up and began walking. Mirza was surprised at how well he kept the tankard from spilling as he did so. He kept his arm around the small girl coercing her to walk with him.

Clara blinked as Katie launched herself into the young assassin's arms. Her emerald eyes followed the archer, watching her clench herself with pain. Not sure what to say, Clara stood up, eyes snapping over to Mirza. So, he was a prince then? He made no indication that he was ever a royal, but if he'd run away then he probably didn't want anyone knowing. The promise of talking about things alerted Clara again, and she nodded. "You too, Mirza." Stepping up to Ranger and giving the mount a pat on the neck. She followed the two into the tavern, opening the door for them and slipping inside the warmth of the indoors. It smelt of food and stale drink, and the young assassin hadn't realized how run dry she felt.

She hummed as she took a seat, slouching in the chair a little. They still has a month left to stay here, and their names were certain to get passed along. They had just saved several people from a mysterious enemy, so it was bound to happen. Not everyone knew their names exactly— but it was concerning. Fed up with her constant worry, Clara pushed the nagging thoughts away. She could worry about it when it happened.

A warm feeling filled Ranger as Mirza winked at him and Clara patted his neck. Katie may have actually made friends! About time she made friends. He flicked his black tail and nudged Clara and flicked his ears curling his lips into a smile.

Mirza's arm slipped around Katie, which she desperately needed because the sprained ankle she had was just about to give out.  She help gently into his shirt and walked with him. Her ribs caught up to her and clawed at her insides makin her clench Mirza's shirt. She closed her eyes and let out a gasp. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up at Mirza, to act like nothing was wrong she scrunched up her nose.

" you should go take a bath," Katie giggled, covering up the hint of pain that lingered in her voice. " Terry could help you out with cloths..." Her eyes lifted to his face, her blue eyes looking at his.

" wait where is Clara?" Katie turned we was and looked around. The youngest member followed. Katie smiled, she really did care about these people even if she known them for a couple of days..... Why? That was a unanswered question. Clara looked like a runaway girl, something that frightened her and Mirza was a prince, at least that's what Severa had said. He was different, not a stuck up little prince but gentle...or  at least he was trying to be.

Mirza sniffed himself. Katie was right. He needed a bath and his clothes could use a washing. Truth be told, he hadn't washed his clothing since he left the desert weeks ago.

"I think I'll take Terry up on that offer." He said as he looked back to Katie. He could feel her using him as a crutch and he happily carried her into the tavern and to a table. He let her down gently and pulled a chair out for Clara.

He set his tankard down and leaned Therafim against the table between his and Clara's respective chairs. He then walked over the bar and grabbed two more tankards of rum. Mirza returned to the table and placed a tankard in front of his two comrades. He then took his seat and began to nurse his rum once again.

"So my friends. I feel we should share a bit about ourselves. I literally know nothing about you two other than your names and the fact that back in that cave we eached risked our lives, not only for the people of this town, but for eachother." He took a long sip of his rum.

He looked around cautiously to ensure no one was present aside from Clara and Katie. "I will begin." He nervously swallowed some spit, "I am Mirza Ali Adil. Prince of Al'Rasheed and rightful heir to the Sultanship of the Basil people. I ran away three years ago. This is Therafim." He placed his hand on his Scimitar. "It is a magical blade of legend. It was given to me when I won the anual sword dancing contest of Al'Rasheed." He took a deep breath and closed his eyes briefly.

A million thoughts all at once. He exposed himself. Now was the time. If he could trust them, his time here would be long and safe, but if this went sour he would have to run again. He may even have to fight them. Mirza pushed these thoughts from his head. He looked up to them both. His expression was mixed with fear and relief.

"Well," he said as he sipped his tankard. "your turn."

Clara listened in silence as Mirza explained himself, sipping the rum slowly as his true identity was revealed. A prince. He was a royal from the inside out, and had left it all behind. From the expression on his face, it was much more than just running away— and Clara had heard all she wanted to hear. At least he wasn't hiding from them anymore. It felt nice to know something about Mirza now, and as uneasy as Clara felt about sharing her own story, it wasn't as bad the more she thought about it. One he finished with his own explanation, Clara took a deep swig of her own drink before staring down at the table.

"Alright, well, I am Clara Thatcher and I used to belong to the King's Army. I think I did it for my dad, but when I went along with it, I realized I didn't want to be there. So.. I ran. I left for the Thieves' Guild, and I was living there until," Clara paused. Should she tell them about Carter? No, she couldn't. His name was a bitter reminder that he was loyal only to his orders, and that their bond meant nothing. "Until they sent someone to arrest me. I've been running since then." Which wasn't very long, but even with the newfound trust she had with her companions, Clara couldn't trust herself to be honest. Being hunted was terrifying.

Her slender fingers scratched at the surface of the tankard, emerald eyes clouded with many different thoughts. "That's all for me," she said quietly, hoping Katie's story was enough to take her mind off Carter.

Katie clapped like a little child, bouncing a bit, when Mirza brought over mead an rum, she quickly grabbed the mead and pulled towards her. A smile stretched a crossed her face as she pulled it close. Terry them came over and took it out of her hands.
"Hey!" She growled as he placed a black drink with a red tint to it, in front of her.
" what's this?" She looked at Terry, a little mad at him.
"Blackberry an Nighroot." He said as he sipped the mead om his hands and walked off.

Well it was true, that Mirza was the prince, Katie was somewhat right with Clara about being a runaway well not really a runaway, she was actually being chased. Katie looked at her drink and stirred it around with her finger.

" that's all for me.." Clara finished. Katie cleared her throat. Her turn.
" um, haha ummmm" she have a shy nervous laugh " well I'm not from a royal palace or served for the king... ohhhh where do I start." Katie looked down into her drink, watching the liquid go in circles
" well....when I was five... My parents- yes i had parents-," Katie joked but then her face went serious " They, they where killed by these black monsters..." She narrowed her brows trying to remember....
" Black lizard monsters with red eyes.  The smell of smoke awoke me.... Um my dad came and got me - to get me out of the house before the house was engulfed... and I remember..." She started to tear up. It was clearly painful to her...

" my mom...oh my mom...." She choked it out " she was lying in her own blood, her neck sliced open and I... i got out of dad's hands and ran over to her and touched her screaming her name... and before i left.. got her neck lace.." Katie sucked in a breath then gathered herself...
" Well dad put me on his horse and sent me here. So yea I'm a orphan... " She paused and lifted her had and wiped a couple tears from her cheeks.
" Terry took me in. Of course I never fit in with the schools since everyone is a elf and yea im human So I was teased bullied soo when i started to fight back... Terry got the idea wanted me to be a lady and we fought over that for years and well I ran off one day... And erm...." She looked up.
Her cheeks burned a bit.

" when I was 13 I met Trevor who was at the time 20. He trained me a bit and uh..." She lifted the cup to her lips and took a sip. A bitter sweet taste filled her mouth. Katie smiled weakly at the thought and placed it down.
" call me a fool but I fell in love with him or i think it was love, hell i dont know i liked him ok??, Well he left before I turned 15... Which now I know why he left and as you guys know... Ummm we killed him. " she stopped and stared at the drink. She took a couple more sips and soon finished it. She looked at every one with red watery eyes but she tried tp act like it didn't bother her

" you two, Terry and Tina know about this. " she close her eyes and let out a shaky breath.
" do you two had any questions since we are all being honest and spilling out guts to each other..." She said as she wiped another tear and placed a weak smile on her face.

Re: Epilogue to Chapter One

Post by Mirza on Tue Aug 19, 2014 11:02 am

Mirza was taken back. First when Terry approached, as Mirza was fairly certain the half-elf was not present, and then again after hearing Katie's story. She clearly trusted him and Clara to go into that level of detail. He looked down for a moment. He had no idea that the wolf monster was Katie's Trevor. It would explain how she handled that situation. He felt bad for being the one to make the final blow. Katie had essentially told her life story. It was tragic and Mirza wondered how it was she kept going. Surely her life haunted her. He felt as though he needed to protect her. Mirza had no siblings. He had cousins, but it was always just him. Still, he was sympathetic towards her. The loss of the person you love can weigh heavily on one's soul. He thought of Farah. His father was the one to kill her, but the loss still affects him.

Mirza remained silent for a moment. He stared at his party members. Clara was a thief. A member of a guild dedicated to being such, but what struck him the hardest was that she was a runaway like himself. His respect for the young assassin grew. He felt a connection to her. Clara did not state her exact reasons for leaving her former post, but he imagined if it were anything like his reasons for abandoning Al'Rasheed, that he should not press the subject. He smiled at her briefly.

He placed a hand on Katie's shoulder and gulped down the last of his rum.

"Well we should go see Tuvera. He owes us, and maybe he knows who that woman was. Maybe you should stay here and rest Katie." He said as he looked down to her "You need to rest and the teleportation stuff could wreak havoc on your body."

Clara watched the two of them curiously, feeling a little better about opening up to the both of them. She had been scared, but happy she'd done it. The respect that formed in Mirza's eyes was enough to know she had their trust, and that's what Clara had worried about most. She wanted to be deemed trustworthy, and the fact she's succeeded as such means the world. Then Tuvera was back on topic, and yes, Mirza was right. "Yes, you should. That or Ranger won't stop guarding the door." Clara reminds with a small smile, silently standing up from her own chair. She had plenty of questions for Tuvera now. Was she strong enough to face the beasts she'd been hired to take care of? Could she really live up to the titles the people of Farwyn had given her?

She didn't know. Clara wanted to be strong and reliable, but with Katie and Mirza, maybe it wasn't so bad to have to lean on someone. They both were good souls, with the best intentions at heart. They were not bad, and there was no darkness inside their hearts. Maybe that's why she trusts them.

Mirza gently touched her shoulder. She smiled softly, she probably looked pretty bad since she did have some brusing on her face but her smile was warm and her eyes still a little watery.
"Well we should go see Tuvera. He owes us, and maybe he knows who that woman was. Maybe you should stay here and rest Katie" He spoke.
"You need to rest and the teleportation stuff could wreak havoc on your body."

Katie let out a soft chuckle as a yawn slowly creeped up. Katie lifted her hand and placed it on his hand that was on her shoulder.

"And Mirza..." she whispered gently, "I'm not mad... you had to kill him and that deed is done, i have no hard feelings" she said softly her eyes tearing up. She meant every word. she forgave him. Trevor needed to die and katie wouldnt have been able to. Her thumb rubbed against his hand then she let go and got up. he legs where wobbly as her body grew tired. Katie fell back into the chair. Her eyes heavy and her body going numb. Tina walked over and sighed.

"Oh he gave her that juice...Well she's gonna sleep well, ill go get Alex to bring her up, if i can find that young man." she chuckled as she took the cups. Katie was trying her hardest to stay awake, but it was clear the girl was gonna fall asleep. In the matter of seconds the girl was leaning on mirza, her breathing soft and quiet.

Mirza smiled as Katie passed out. He lifted her from him and gently left her on the chair. Mirza gently picked her up. She was lighter than he remembered. He walked to Terry who was paying more attention to his bar at the moment. He was shaky and his eyes still showed strong emotion. He was overjoyed when Alex and Katie were returned to him. Mirza looked down to the girl in his armas for a moment. She was not of elf blood, but she was family to this man. His daughter. He loved her as such. Mirza felt slightly envious. Mirza often would get injured during his Raks Al'Mawt training, but his father would say each wound is a lesson and offer nothing more. Terry looked after this girl and showed genuine concern for her.

Terry pointed him to Katie's room where Mirza brought the young ranger. He let her down gently on the bed and turned to leave the room. He stopped at the entrance and looked at her one more time.

"Sleep well... Friend" He said as he exited.

Mirza returned to the main chamber of the tavern and met up with Clara. "Well we are off to see the wizard." he said.

Mirza casually walked. He motioned Clara to walk beside him. He smiled at her. He felt comfortable around her. He drew Therafim and held it out to her, hilt towards her.

"Go on. Grab it. Its unlike anything you've ever felt."

Clara watched Mirza carry Katie away. The atmosphere was much looser now that everyone had returned home. She liked Farwyn like this, not terrified and hiding in fear. When Mirza returned, Clara joined his side and a content silence fallen over the two of them. Clara paused when he offered his sword to her. She felt as if she didn't really have the experience to hold such a weapon. After seeing its capabilities, it was far more intimidating than it appeared. The blade glinted, and the hilt was just right there, and Clara couldn't resist the curiosity that grabbed at her. She'd dueled against this blade— the very blade that seemed to cut through air.

Hesitantly, she reached out for the handle— grabbing it and gently pulling away from her comrade. A sense of relaxation suddenly floods through her; rushes through her veins and pushes any anxieties and fear into the oblivion. A nice buzz trills through her, and the world seems softer. Clara's features soften, and she looks at Mirza's blade wistfully. It almost seems weightless, the only indication she's holding anything is the hilt in her palm. A breath escapes Clara's lips, purely awe. She can't believe that this sword does all this. It's got a new beauty now that Clara knows some of its potential.

"It's amazing," Clara admits, eyes awe stricken.

Ranger snorted as he stood on the porch, staring into the window. He watched Mirza pick up katie. A gently smile crossed his face as he watched them go up stairs, and clara waited for mirza to return.

Kinda like a better family, he thought to himself. He back off the porch and flicked his black tail. He was really starting to like the two. he shook his head and stood at the enterance, nibbling at the growing grass next to the cobblestone road.

The wind blew softly as the girl sat on her horse, she watched the multicolored swirls of lights above her dance.
what a beautiful night her thoughts echoed in her head. Katie tapped Ranger's sides and walked across a feild to where a small hut stood. out side was a beautiful blonde woman and a dark haired man. They turned and smiled gently...
"Mom...dad..." she dismounted and started to run towards them...

a cold feeling awoke the girl.
"wha-" the opened her eyes weakly to see Tina placing a wet, cold rag on her forehead. she smiled and then let her heavy eyes close again.

MIrza smiled at her.

"Its all I have really. That and Anta." He said as he shrugged his shoulders. He had other posessions, but none of real value. His Siyah was probably worth a pretty penny, but other than that he had the clothes on his back and an empty coin purse. Mirza preferred to travel light. In the desert you never took more than you needed. The lighter you were, the quicker you got around.

He sheathed the sword. "So the thieves guild huh? We have thieves where I come from, but they were never part of any guild. Tell me about it?" Mirza's tone was purely investigative. His voice hid no alterior motives and the innocence and curiousity were clear on his tongue.

Clara handed the weapon back to him, exhaling once as Mirza began to speak again. The young assassin wasn't expecting him to ask about her time in the Thieves' Guild, but it didn't seem like he was asking in vain. She turned her head to look at him, and it was just the will to know— nothing more. Not like she had any reason to not trust him. Clara turned her head back to face forward, chewing her lip as she thought back to the old place she lived temporarily.

"It's always quiet. You think with a place full of murderers and wanted men and women it would be loud, but it's always quiet. Everything is kind of run down, and you really have to know how to defend yourself. I arrived there, and I was really vulnerable. I only had trouble a few times, but I found I place to stay and things relaxed." Clara says, thinking back to the few quiet weeks she spent at the tavern, working behind the counter and serving the crims she had almost been trained to find. It had been an interesting turn of events.

"And then, someone hired me to take out someone who was threatening them. The pay was good, and the tavern wasn't the best source of money. So I decided I'd give it a try. I had weapons, and it had some training. I took it, and I took care of the job. Word got out that I was a assassin for hire, and I got a few more jobs. It didn't last forever, mainly because the army had found me, but it was nice, I guess. Being on my own is a lot different than I expected it to be."

Clara didn't want to mention Carter. Why should she? She hadn't seen him in a good month or so, and it didn't seem like he was anywhere near. Clara wasn't expecting him to leap out of the shadows, which was a bad move to assume he'd moved on. They weren't done hunting her yet, and maybe she knew that in the back of her mind.

Katie musta been asleep for a while or so she thought. The throbbing pain in her body made her grunt. The drink still made her tired but she wanted to go down stairs.

Katie smiled weakly as she got up, then grabbed her side and bit her lip, her eyes tighten as they closed. The scream that boiled in her throat was muffled by a pillow. Katie waited for the pain to die down. she then got up and grabbed her black riding pants, a light blue sweater and her black riding boots. she smiled then snuck out of her room.

She has to go for a ride, who else would ride Ranger? She came to a stop when she saw her two friends still here.
[i]meh.. why are yall still here[i] she thought to herself then marched to her bed room where she lifted her window and slowly crawled out. She smiled when she saw Ranger grazing.
"Ran" she whispered. Her stallion just flicked his ear and continued doing what he was doing. she rolled her eyes and climbed down the vines that where crawling up the Tavern.

Terry meant to cut them down as long time ago but didn't. she got to the ground and then held her sides as she collapsed to the ground. Red black liquid along with some food came out of the girl. she stood there for a second then stood up, still wobbly from vomiting.

[i]shouldn't do this! Your hurt![i] A voice echoed in her head. she rolled her eyes and continued over to the horse.
"Hey boy" she smiled as the stallion jerked his head up and narrowed his eyes
~Bed~ he stared at her.
"No we are going for a walk" she smiled when she grabbed his mane and lead him into the barn, where she washed, brushed and tacked him up. Katie held her breath as she lifted her foot into the stirrup. a grunt came from behind. she looked to see a camel! Anta!! she smiled then walked over to the moody animal who seemed to look like he was gonna spit on her.

"Whoa there bud," she reached into a pocket and pulled out a ripe red apple. "Not sure if you like it but if you keep this a secret and ill get you more" she smiled  as she patted him then grabbed her bow and arrows then mounted the stallion and trotted out and quickly pasted the Tavern's front door and straight into the sunlight forest.

OOC: Tori keep in mind it is the early morning.

"I see." Mirza said, being a good listener. He thought about what she said. Her guild was a collection of people who had nowhere else to go. They may have been criminals and low lifes, but it seemed that they looked out for eachother. Similar, Mirza was certain, to how he now looked out for Clara here. It must have been hard for her to leave, but Mirza could sympathize. He left the palace and attempted to live in Al'Rasheed as a thief himself, but the Hassansins (Mirza associated with how they searched for him with how the army searched for Clara) caught on to him and the great golden city was no longer safe.

Mirza placed a hand gently on Clara's shoulder. In Basil culture this was a sign of trust and sympathy. He smiled at her.

"I ran from the palace in a similar manner. I had to survive on the streets for three years in Al'Rasheed. Thievery was not beyond me. I got good at it, but there is no thieves guild. It would have been nice to be a part of a family like that." he said.

Mirza removed his hand from Clara's shoulder as he approached Tuvera's tower. He wasn't sure how this encounter would go, but Tuvera had an unusually cool head the night before. It seemed, from what Mirza could tell anyways, that Tuvera was always calm. Nothing seemed to bother him. Not vomit on his floor or being awakened in the middle of the night to help rescue helpless victims.

As Mirza stood before the incomplete tower he noticed once again the lack of doors. Mirza was lucky the night prior that shouting seemed to have worked. He did not wish to shout and wake the town. Especially after the previous night. Mirza looked to Clara.

"Any ideas?" He asked, completely clueless as to how to get inside.

Clara flashed him a small smile in return of his sympathy. It was appreciated. They approached the tower, and the young assassin stared at it with a skeptical look in her eye. "You know, if this was a normal tower we could just walk in, but Tuvera's always been a little different." She murmurs. She places a hand on the wall and looks skyward. "I doubt anyone would enjoy us yelling, either." Clara sighed.

What did this guy have against doors? Sighing, she took a step back and glared at the stone. "I've gotten one. He should be wilting for us or something." The young assassin stood there, eyebrow raised as she glances over at Mirza. "Is there a password or something?"

Ranger snorted as he came to a stop. He looked around and sighed. This was it. The very first place where Katie met him. The golden grass had a shimmer of red from the rising sun. The forest was lit up and shined gold from the rays. A small creek cut threw the meadow and soo came to the mini waterfall that trickled between two rocks.

Katie smiled patted Ranger.
" good boy... To the tree" she whispered.

Ranger flicked his tail and nodded his head and started to walk. In the middle of the meadow was a huge old apple tree that still bared fruit. It's huge branches stretched out and curved. The creek ran next to it. Ranger came to a stop again and knelt down to let Katie off. The girl slid off and leaned against the tree holding her ribs.

They hurt badly but part of this place made the pain fade a bit. Katie looked up at the bright red apples. So perfect. As if they where written in a fantasy book. Ranger followed her gaze and stared at them.
~apples...~ his eyes where slightly wider. He was a complete sucker for apples.
Katie lowered her gazed and stared at her steed.

" would you think the other two would like this?" She whispered softly to the Mustang. Ranger looked at her then walked over and nickered and pressed his head softly to her head then lied next to her, both looking at the beautiful senary
