Races of Turast Empty Races of Turast

Post by Mirza Tue Jan 07, 2014 12:21 pm

Turast is a vast world filled with many different races. Tori knows the majority of them, but im att work, bored and feel like giving you people a better understanding of the owrld. (and im terribly sorry about not getting the map on here yet, I intend to, but having a new GF who makes me happy and who i can actually be with in person distracts me.)

Anyways Turast and its people.

*Humans*
Humans are easily the most common race of all in Turast and easily the most diverse. They mainly live to the south of the great sea and are most known for the great Arkose Empire. The Arkose Empire is the most vast human population that live under one rule. They follow a King, by the name of Cason and his son Archer heads the military portion. They have four major cities, Hornfels, Talc, Greenstone and Greywalk.
Greywalk is the capitol and is very political due to that fact. Talc is a trade city being bordered by water on both sides and having direct acces to the traders sea. Hornfels is a mining city that onced belonged to the dwarves of the Earth Helm mountains. Greenstone is a mixed city of elves and humans which has the Farwynn forest strecthing across its southern border.
The Arkose are a great people and highly religous. They have great military strength dure to their size and have some of the best trained soldiers and gaurds in all of Turast.
There are also humans that live in the desert far to the south. This desert is known as the Basil desert, named for the mountains to its southern end. The humans here thirve in the desert like no other breed of civilized people can. They defend it fiercly and do not try to expand beyond their desert. They are said to have a great city, but only a select few merchants know its true location. Basil merchants do reach out from the desert, unlike the rest of their people and are famed for their high quality goods and sapphires.
Humans also live in the various mountain ranges of Turast as barbaric cultures. The Silican mountains and the Mustok mountains are such places.

*Dwarves*
The dwarves were once a proud and bold people, but once the Arkose came to power they fought a bloody war with the humans and eventually lost. After that the Humans took theirr great city of Hornfels and made it a part of their empire. The Dwarves have never been able to truly recover from their war with the Arkose, but have become an integral part of their empire. It took a long time, but Dwarves eventually earned all of their rites back from the humans and now thrive along side them. Their famous smiths forge weapons for the Arkose and their merchants travel the roads. There is still some animosity between humans and dwarves, but largely it has become a thing of the past.

*Elves*
There are two different types of elves that live in Turast. The first and most known are the High elves. They share the city of Greenstone with the Arkose and have the great city of Maralen to the south of the Farwynn forest. The high elves are a pieceful people and generally keep to themselves. They are not very keen on other races and believe themselves better than other species. They are great artists and craftsmen. Their cities have sprawling towers and wonderful arcitecture.
The other brand of elves that live in Turast are the wood elves. They, unlike the High elves never gave up their ancestry as forest creatures. They are only found in the Florwynn forest on the Silican Peninsula. They are brutal in the defense of Florwynn, to the extent they do not let any outsiders within. They also craft the deadliest poison in Turast called Moonglove.

*Vedalken*
The vedalken are a strange people. They willingly joined the Arkose empire when they were discovered on the Isle of Kelvas and have since become an integral part of it. They are lawyers and politicians, architects and craftsmen, but most notably they are masters of the Arcane. They are famed in Turast for their great intelligence and mastery of magic. They have Academies throughout the Arkose empire and are very passionate about their studies.
They are tall and have very indistinct facial features. They have no ears and do not grow hair on their body. They are most known for their blue skin.
